My Boyfriend’s Skincare Routine | Kiehls Facial Fuel Review

My Boyfriend's Skincare Routine Kiehls Facial Fuel Review

Lee is a bit more regimented with his skincare than I am so I thought it would be interesting to share what he uses now that he’s found a routine he’s happy with and maybe it’ll help some of you out there.

Name: Lee

Age: 27

Skin type: Oily with dryness in the winter

Concerns: Oiliness

Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Moisturiser

I bought it because I wanted a light, refreshing facial cream that I could use daily to help my dry skin during the colder weather, one that didn’t feel greasy or heavy and would also possibly help control my oily skin. It doesn’t eliminate the oil completely, but it has definitely helped (what I eat makes more difference) and has helped with blemishes and spots too.

It’s quite expensive for the amount you get compared to others but I’ve used it daily since mid-January and it’s still going, a little goes a fair way. I typically use it every morning after washing my face with Coalface from Lush. It’s a bit tingly and cooling when you apply it which is really refreshing in the morning and doesn’t leave you feeling like there’s something on your face. It complements the squeaky clean feeling that Coalface gives really well.

I wouldn’t recommend the moisturiser (or Coalface for that matter) for people who suffer from dry skin badly all year as when my skin was really dry it didn’t fully fix it but for the majority of time it gave enough moisture. Although I like the design of the packaging, the only downside is that it’s really hard to tell how much is left because of the dark coloured tube.

Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub

I wanted a new scrub to use once or twice a week to exfoliate more. I’ve only used it a few times but I’ve found it very refreshing, especially compared to Coalface.

Unfortunately, we’ve only just realised that this scrub has plastic microbeads in it which is a huge shame.

You can buy both the moisturiser and the scrub on the Kiehl’s website. I’m currently trying out a sample of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate so I’m sure I’ll let you all know how it works out for me!

If you’re wondering about the lovely tray in the photo, it’s by Hay and was sent to me from the Trouva Boutique which has a huge variety of brands and products from independent UK boutiques, lots of lovely unique homeware!
