I feel this is quite appropriate for a Thursday (#tbt). I’ve been meaning to post this for a long time, quite a few people have done it recently but I thought I would focus mine on specific ages. I picked the ages kind of randomly and then realised they all had a three year gap, isn’t it lovely when patterns just form themselves. There are a lot of things I could say to myself at every age but I’ll keep it simple.
I’d tell my 5 year old self to keep doing gymnastics, you’ll really appreciate it in 20 years
I’d tell my 8 year old self that you’re probably not going to be any of of the professions you imagined
I’d tell my 11 year old self to stop trying to be more grown up than you are
I’d tell my 14 year old self to value your friendships
I’d tell my 17 year old self that there’s no point in having a 5 or 10 year plan
I’d tell my 20 year old self that it gets better, even when it gets worse again
I’d tell my 23 year old self to put in more effort, it won’t hurt
And to my 26 year old self, I hope things are going a bit more to plan than a year ago.
What would you tell your younger self?
