When I was a kid I was all about the colourful clothes. I wanted brightly coloured everything. It’s a shame that as we grow up we’re often expected to dress more conservatively and that usually includes less colourfully. Where does that childhood confidence disappear to?
These days, I’m by far the most comfortable in black clothes. It’s what feels the most ‘me’. I do love colour though and have been playing with introducing it into my wardrobe for a couple of years now. I started with some colourful coats for a pop of happiness on dreary winter days and now I’ve been adding some more colour to my summer clothing.
When I bought this dress, I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted to keep it (I didn’t have time to try it on in the shop), but when I tried it on at home I really liked it. I do find it a bit odd having the colour almost exactly match my hair but I’ll be changing my hair colour soon so that doesn’t bother me too much.
One of the reasons that I liked this dress is that it being knitted means it suits most seasons. So I should be able to get a good amount of wear out of it.
Of course, I had to pair this dress with black and white. This is definitely the easiest way to wear new colours. I also went for some gold jewellery to compliment the warm colour. I had wanted this necklace from Lima Lima for a while so was pleasantly surprised when Lee bought it for me as an Easter gift.
Can we also appreciate the beauty of this beach, which happens to be called Lee Bay. It was a dreary day and it kept raining on and off. But somehow, the beach still looked inviting and beautiful with the rugged rocks surrounding the bay.
Do you like adding colour to your wardrobe? I’d love to see how you’re making it work for your style. I also want to give a shout out to Alice-Christina who does colourful ethical fashion so very well!
i adore this cosy orangy color on you!!
